The Tired Man, Bute Tiree

Flemming Lassen designed the iconic overstuffed easy chair for The Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Competition in 1935. The Tired Man is the epitome of cosiness with its chubby, organic curves and sitting in it is, in Flemming Lassen’s own words, as warm and safe as a polar bear cub in the arms of its mother in the middle of the ice cap. In 2014, it set the record as the most expensive chair sold at auction in Denmark with a price of 1.42 million DKK. It comes in a Moonlight or Espresso-coloured sheepskin, nubuck, leather, Bute Tiree and other textiles.
